Painting teacher/former Telenovela star

Apparently my painting teacher used to live in Miami and was in a telenovela "Olvidarte Jamás."  He just told me this last night and so I had to do a little YouTube research.  Luckily, the novela was a big hit in Romania (no idea what language).

He's the detective who appears about 1:20 into the video, in a blue jacket next to the police officer.
